unredeemed
"For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." Colossians 1:19-20 (English Standard Version)
A dear sister Nicole sent me a link to another blog this morning. It had this new song by Selah on it, and oh how it resonated with me! It appears that the enemy is waging war all around us here at Team Alexander, but we will not lose heart as the victory is ours in Christ! It can be a difficult thing to reconcile the hard stuff, the unanswered questions, the betrayal of a friend, the "can hot and cold water come from the same faucet" kind of questions--especially when your children are involved. Ultimately though, God does redeem ALL THINGS for good, for HIS glory and that is where I can rest.
The Lord doesn't always reveal why His timing and what we think is best are different, but He did just that for us. We couldn't figure out why we didn't pass court, why our little man needed to stay in the care of others for weeks longer, why, why, why??? Had we passed court on the 12th of August, we would have been in Ethiopia 2 weeks ago- and we really needed to be here, here to process, here to ask and try to answer questions. So we are grateful, we confess our faith is often weak, but He is always strong, always right and His timing ALWAYS best. We pray that we pass on the 5th and are able to go to get our sweet boy at the end of October. We are ready for sure.
UNREDEEMED
The cruelest world
The coldest heart
The deepest wound
The endless dark
The lonely ache
The burning tears
The bitter nights
The wasted years
Life breaks and falls apart
But we know these are
Places where grace is
Soon to be so amazing
It may be unfulfilled
It may be unrestored
But when anything that's shattered
Is laid before the Lord
Just watch and see
It will not be
Unredeemed
For every choice that led to shame
And all the love that never came
For every vow that someone broke
And every lie that gave up hope
We live in the shadow of the fall
But the cross says these are all
Places where grace is
Soon to be so amazing
It may be unfulfilled
It may be unrestored
But when anything that's shattered
Is laid before the Lord
Just watch and see
It will not be
Unredeemed
Places where grace is
Soon to be so amazing
It may be unfulfilled
It may be unrestored
But you never know the miracle
The Father has in store
Just watch and see
It will not be
Just watch and see
It will not be
Unredeemed

I have been thinking about you guys a lot...praying for this...So glad for some clarity. I'm so sad I didn't get to see you when Addy was brand new, but I will be back in three weeks (you may be on a plane which would be even better :) and I will do whatever I have to do to get some Alexander time in before I leave. (unless it means hijacking a plane that is leaving for sweet Seth) Love you guys so very much...we still need to log some phone time :0)
So glad the LORD is whispering sweet sounds of encouragement in your ear. Please continue to remind yourself the truth. continue to put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
praying for you
:)
His plan is far above our plan. Praying for you friend. Glad you can see the wisdom in His plan but praying for you through the "tough stuff" in life. Much love to you.
All "unredeemed" situations and moments, in the Hand of the Redeemer, are being redeemed for His glory. Much of this darkness will not become light until we cross from this side to the next.
"God moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. He plants His footsetps in the sea, and rides upon the storm..... Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take, the clouds ye so much dread; are big with mercy and shall break in blessings on your head...Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust Him for His grace; behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face." William Cowper
Thanks, Em, for opening your life and heart to so many.
I am richly blessed to be your Mom.

Love you friend! "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." 2Cor 12:9
