didn't happen
We are sad today as the uncle did not appear in court. Courts are closed now. We will wait till Oct 5 and pray that will be the day. We are trusting in His sovereign grace and perfect timing. Our hearts are broken.

We are so sorry-we will keep you and your son in Ethiopia in our prayers!
So sorry to hear this. We are still praying for peace and protection for your WHOLE family until y'all are together.
Psalm 34:18
So very sorry to read this! We will be praying hard between now & October for you.
Our dossier is in ET now. We are waiting on the referral to our 'waiting' daughter. The referral paperwork finally appeared, but there were a couple of errors that made it impossible for us to be given the official referral. We now are waiting for corrections...our hearts crack a bit with each delay.
I know it is so difficult to feel powerless to make things happen. I will be praying that your will find solace and strength in your faith that helps you feel emboldened to expect good things to be coming--and soon!
I am so sorry, Emily. Hope you find peace in God's grace today.
Wish I could say something that would make you feel instantly better. My heart hurts for you. I will keep praying - that goes without saying.
Oh I am so sorry! Praying for your entire family!!
We will continue to pray and are so sorry!!!
So sorry to hear this! Praying for your son while he waits for you and that you will pass in October when courts re-open. We had to wait during closure last month of an older child and it is a hard wait but we learned Gods timing was perfect in the end. We ended up not passing until Feb. 2009 and were able to meet another local adoptive family adopting from the same orphanage. It was exactly what we needed.
OH no. I am so sad to read this and I know your hearts are broken. I wish I could say something to make it better and I can't. But will pray for comfort and peace and a swift resolution asap, regardless. Hang in there. Love M
My heart hurts for your family, this is the hardest part of the life of adoption. We know all of its in the Lords hands but its hard to accept-We are praying that your son is kept happy, healthy, and safe in Gods hands.
So sorry for your family. The waiting is so hard. But remember that God's timing is perfect. And His ways better than ours. Give Abe an extra kiss!
I'm so sorry to hear this news, Emily. I have read the last several posts with a burdened heart as I felt the urgency for you and your family to pass court. I can only imagine how difficult it is for your mother's heart to wait until Oct. I am humbled everytime I read your blog and see the ways God is using your family to bring glory to Him. I will be praying for your hearts during this difficult season of waiting.

I'm so sorry for you guys. Oh the pain of waiting. We will lift your family up in prayer for comfort and a supernatural drawing together of ALL your hearts - even across the ocean.
Oh Emily...I am so so sorry! October! May the peace of God be with you today. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the story in October to see where God is taking you on this journey. But this is hard! I am so sad for you today!

Oh Emily, I know that your heart longs to be with your son. So thankful for the way that the Lord has provided you with the truth of His word and the body of Christ to come alongside your family during the waiting. We love you and hope to see you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to read this - I hope the days FLY by to Oct 5 - we'll be checking in!
We are so sad for you...my heart hurts. Praying for peace for your family and the time to fly by.
Psalms 147:3
I'm hugging you in my heart!
I am so sorry to hear this, too. Heartbroken for you, and praying.
So sorry Emily and famiy. You all are in my prayers for October to come quickly! God has His plans and everything always seems to work out.
~Anne
I'm so sorry Emily...
We will continue to pray you all through to your next court date. Hugs!!!
i'm really sad. i'm praying for your hearts to be comforted in the meantime.
We were blessed to meet Moody Thursday morning and heard about your court date issues. We prayed for you yesterday and last night. We are sorry that things didn't go as hoped. We will continue to pray for your family including the precious boy in ET.
The Lord's timing is perfect, but that doesn't make it easy to bear.
In Him, Adrienne

oh no, so sorry. We, also, are having to wait on God as our adoption agency struggles thru bankruptcy. He does continually hold us, and our children. Praying for you this evening. darci
we are sooo sad for your delay, i hate to wait, praying oct comes quickly for you!!!
I'm so sorry to see this today. I will certainly keep you all in our thoughts. I would never want to get your hopes up for nothing, but remember, there are no "absolutes" in international adoption. Two years ago, we received our referral 2 days before court closed. We were so sad that we couldn't even be considered until after court opened again. Three weeks later (Aug 27, in the middle of courts being closed) we got the call that she was ours. They found her birth mother and were able to find a judge to hear the case while they knew how to contact her. She was in our arms on September 19 - WEEKS before court reopened. At the time we thought it was a miracle. But isn't it all in this process?!?!? We're thinking of you and hoping for your own little miracle. Everything happens for a reason, some things are understandably harder to wait for!
I am so very sorry. Delays are not easy on our hearts and I was saddened when I heard your news. I pray that you will have the strength to get through this and that your court date runs smoothly in Oct. I am so very sorry.
From one Emily to another, I am so sorry! My heart goes out to you and your family. Praying for peace.
Emily, I am so sorry. Praying for you guys as you wait upon the Lord.
Oh, sooooo sorry to hear the news. I know it is heart-breaking. All this waiting is so hard to understand.
Hey, we are scheduled to tentatively travel end of October if TB test is negative. Maybe we will be traveling together....
The Coney's will keep Team Alexander lifted in prayer!
I'm so sorry Emily. I will continue to pray and trust in His perfect plan with you.
Much love to you and your family.
Oh no, I'm so sorry! I know the heartache of having to wait yet again. I appreciated your reminder to me so I'll give it back to you...you have to know HE redeems all things for good. Praying for your sweet little boy and you!
so very sorry!!! i'm going to be praying for PEACE for your hearts. a deep peace that is beyond your understanding. for your entire family... and your little waiting one in Ethiopia.
Sorry to hear but trusting that God's timing is perfect! Our love.
i will pray for god to hold you close, and your boy, as you have to continue to wait. i am so sorry.
Grrrr. So sorry. Praying for October and for all the hearts longing to be together.
We are so so sad with you. Our little precious sparkly boy... Praying for peace and comfort for you all and for God's protection over your special little man...
Emily I am so sorry. I can only feel the pain you have tonight. It is so hard not to pass and pass and even harder when you know people just aren't showing up and its closure. Remember, his timing is perfect.
Oh, man, I am so so sorry. Your post is very brave and full of grace in spite of how I imagine your heart must feel. Praying for peace over the next six weeks and a positive outcome in October.
Heidi

I am so sorry. I have read that they have one judge coming in 1 or 2 days a week to hear the open cases. Has your agency mentioned this?

I am so sorry to hear this. Hang in there and trust in the Lord as His timing is never too late.

I am so so sorry. I, one year ago, was going through this exact same thing. We had to wait through the court closure and then the relative didn't show up. It was so hard. God was there for our precious A and us. I pray that God will wrap his arms around you and be with you and your little one during the court closure.
Hugs,
amber
Praying with you. Knowing that our sovereign God does all things perfectly and in his own timing, according to his own Will.
Praying for comfort and perseverance for all of you as you wait..
The Darlings
Just came across your blog. I was looking for a big family. We are looking into adoption and wondering how you afford it w/ a big family. We live in a small town on 60,000 and I stay home. Looking for thughts, ideas, anything right now and that it gets put on my husbands heart as well. Thanks. Jill from WI
As we sat behind Brett & Shannon at church on Sunday of course my thoughts turned once again to you. Then the worship band played "Everlasting God" and as we sang
"Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God, You reign forever,
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer!"
Of course, I prayed this song for you.
Then the band went right into "Mighty To Save" which will always bring tears of joy to my eyes and be known as "Abe's Song"!
I pray your strengh is rising. Know that you are loved and being prayed for in Hong Kong!
Love & Blessings,
Kim
Sweet-pea... is there anything I can do at all? I'm so so sorry. What a blow. Know that I love you and you're in my heart and thoughts.
Oh Emily...I am so, very sorry. I am praying for your family. The LORD is working it out girl. Remember that every-time you look down at Abe. His LOVE reaches to the heavens and HIS FAITHFULNESS stretches to the skies
love you lots! :)
Hey Mood and Em, God has y'all in the palm of His hand. I'm passing on a verse Taylor read to me yesterday...But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall! Malachi 4:2. I can't wait to see y'all leaping like calves!
So sorry to hear this! We will lift you up in prayer tonight.
I am so sorry, Emily. Praying for your family and sweet little one...
