soli deo gloria
For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God-His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him. For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock except our God?- the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.
Psalm 18:28-33
We didn't hear what we hoped to hear yesterday at the neurologist. We have a MRI scheduled for next Wednesday. We are somewhat numb today, trying to simply rest in the Word and not allow our minds to wander to places that they don't need to go.
Though we feel devastated by the news we received from this Dr, we remain steadfast in our hope that the Lord can and will fully restore this precious gift! Will you join us in that prayer?
Soli Deo Gloria

Alexanders,
We are praying for each one of you as you wait to know what you are dealing with.
We are especially praying that the Lord would cover you with His peace that passes all understanding and that He would remind you that He is "able to make ALL grace abound to you, so that in ALL things at ALL times, having ALL that you need, you will abound in every good work."

You have our prayers. We are thankful that the Lord ordained Abe's adoption, and through you, he will receive the care he needs. In all of this sadness, THAT is a praise!! We are also thankful that you are holding steadfast to the Lord, for He alone brings true comfort. Love to all of you! The picture is BEAUTIFUL!! Is it from a wedding?
I found you through your sister, Melissa's blog. I've been following your story since the adoption. (Cried as I watched your awesome adoption video-the best part was your CUTE daughter's face when she got to hold Abe.)
Just wanted you to know I'm praying, here in Lansing, Michigan.

Praying for you here. It is hard but just try to take it one day at a time. God loves your sweet precious boy even more than we can possibly imagine.
I happened upon your blog around the time you were in Ethiopia picking up your sweet Abe. I've shared your story with some students in our ministry. We are and will continue to pray for your family as you walk through this hard leg of the journey...knowing that our mighty-to-save God is seeing this with eternal-perspective eyes and will bring glory to Himself through your family and already has done so!

My heart is full of thoughts of you and your family. Thank you for the example of focusing on God through the drama. H
As a Mama to five children, my three youngest daughters all adopted Treasures, I am so humbled by God's love of all His orphans and His amazing Grace for all of us through adoption, on earth and into Heaven. He is so very good!!
I stand in complete awe as one who has witnessed time and again God place His sweet orphans into loving families...my mind and heart reel as to how He just knows the perfect, perfect family for each of His precious children. He chose your family for His precious Son, Abe...I just know that by seeing your sweet journey while you waited for baby Abe and then while in Ethiopia, the videos you shared were some of the most Blessed I have ever been privileged to witness. Since you have been home and walking through this valley, again, so sure that God sure did choose the perfect family for your son and His. God just knew you were to be Abe's sweet family....He knew. Rest in Him.
Praying.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
I will keep your beautiful family in my prayers, but I also pray and hope that whatever diagnosis you receive for Abe... you will also see God's perfection in that. That he is just as he was made to be, I know he will bring your family great joy.
What a beautiful, beatiful picture. I am praying for you all.
We are praying for your sweet family and precious baby!
I love you Em
My thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family.
It has been so touching to see the long road to little Abe. The very little I have been around your family I could see a love most families never have. Abe is so blessed to have the Alexander family as his family. His sweet little smile is there to lift you up when you feel so down. Only God knows where this all leads to, let Him take you there hand and hand.
Emily,
I am a friend of Corinne's- had not talked to her in years, hooked up with her on Facebook, and then she sent me randomly one day, the link to your blog. Oddly enough, we have just started to seriously talk about adoption from Africa. I have been following your blog and your story since you were in Ethiopia (the picture of your daughter holding little Abe that you posted the other day makes me literally weep with joy every time I see it).
I am so thankful for your faith and I know that you know God chose you all to be Abe's family because you are fully capable of tackling whatever comes his way. God loves you and so do so many others. Just know you have hundreds of strangers in Nashville on their knees for your precious family and baby Abe particularly.
I pray blessings and peace on you in the next few days.
Praying lots for Abe and your sweet family!

Praying with your family!

Abe is where he is suppose to be, you and your family are his guardian angels there for his help!
May you all surround him and keep guard over him and protect him, thanks to GOD he is with your family! You and your family were chosen to be his protecter and to help heal him! Hoping you find out by the MRI what path you are all to take and that you use that to put your faith, healing and contributions towards that specific need so it can help him and other children!! Praying for your family, with GOD all things are possible.
Hi, I've followed your story for a bit, but have never posted. I'll be praying.

Know that fellow brothers and sisters in Christ EVERYWHERE is covering your family in prayer right now. Much love to your prciuos family!
Kristy
Alexander family,
You don't even know me but my daughters and I have cried over your blog. The gotcha day...the airport...the "Hallelujah" song by Third Day is one of our FAVS!!! What an incredible family who isn't afraid to be bold and obedient for the Lord.
I don't know what the prognosis was but my heart aches for you all. Some verses that the Lord gave me in a REALLY difficult trial were Romans 4:20-21. "Yet he (Abraham) didn't waver in unbelief regarding the promise of God; but was strenghtened in his faith, giving glory to God, being FULLY PERSUADED that God had the power to do what He promised." I am confident that the Lord has given you promises for Abe and your family. BE FULLY PERSUADED!!!
sweet, sweet family picture.
The winters are praying for the alexanders. Sweet abe.
BEAUTIFUL picture! Know our thoughts are with your lovely family and precious and perfect Abe.
