Rest in Me, My child.
Give your mind a break from planning and trying to anticipate what will happen. Pray continually, asking My Spirit to take charge of the details of this day. Remember that you are on a journey with Me. When you try to peer into the future and plan for every possibility, you ignore your constant Companion, who sustains you moment by moment. As you gaze anxiously into the distance, you don't even feel the strong grip of My hand holding yours. How foolish you are, My child!
Rememberance of Me is a daily discipline. Never lose sight of My presence with you. This will keep you resting in Me all day, every day.
For God alone, O My soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Psalm 62:5-7
This was my devotional this morning. The words were so appropriate for me today. I know all of this to be true, but I am struggling with wanting so badly to know the exact moment that I will hold my son. I want to know for sure that it will be before the courts close and there is just no way to know! I must simply rest in the goodness of my savior and trust in His timing! My sweet boy will be 3 months old tomorrow. I long to hold him, smell him and see that precious smile in person.
This has truly been an adventure with God. When he tugged at my heart well over a year ago to begin this journey, I had NOT A CLUE what the road would be for our family. I honestly thought that we would do our paperwork, get on the list and wait the 1-6 month time frame that was presented to us, we would then hop on a plane and go get our kids!! Apparently that wasn't His plan! I am so thankful though. His plan is always, always best. It is always for our good and His glory. I want His best for our family. So, I will continue to wait and earnestly pray that we get through courts sooner than later. I would be so grateful if you would pray the same- for all of the families with referrals that are trying to make it through before they close. I know the Ethiopian staff is doing everything that they can to make this happen and we are so thankful for them!! :)
BEST NEWS--My faithful friend Lori found out yesterday that she has a beautiful daughter!! Go say congrats. We are so happy for them!!

Who would've ever known where you'd be standing today - waiting for your almost three month old son! It's just amazing... HE will take care of you, you know that.
It's so darn hard to be patient... and you and Moody sure have been tested. It just shows you how strong you are and that God isn't giving you more than you can handle, even if it feels differently than that...
I pray for little "A" all the time, and his forever family! :)
It was awesome to hear your voice yesterday and to celebrate with you from afar! Hugs to you!
xoxo Lor
I'm excited to meet you on the 28th too. I will add you to my blog roll as well. The link on the Ethiopia babies yahoo group under your name did not take me to this blog but maybe it was user error.:)
Who else has a blog from our DFW group? I only know of 4.
I will definitely pray for your family and a timely court date and resolution.

Thanks for this, Em. I needed this exhortation today. You bless me!
i love your spirit and honesty ... this is a windy road that few are willing to travel ... i am proud to call you sister !!!!
I am praying for your strength and peace.
I am not an Ethiopia-adopter, so I am not up on why the courts are closing. Is adoption changing there? Is it national vacation?
Can't wait to see your little Texas Tech fan in your arms!!
Really beautiful and you know I needed this one too! This road has definitely taken some unexpected turns but the path is His and I'm so thankdul for your willingness to follow wherever He has lead.
Praying that everything will fall into place, and that you'll be holding your sweet boy in your arms soon!!!
I need your devotional!:) Great reminder - that I need about every day!
I came back to reread your devotional. Thank you. I needed that. I am going through a scary situation (that may be revealed on my blog in a few weeks) and fear has gripped me tonight. (it's 5am!!)
I appreciate you and your walk with Jesus.
Have an amazing time at family camp!!!
