help me, please!
This is my beloved, Moody. The man of my dreams, and this is what he has looked like most of our married life. :)
This is Moody now. We went to Colorado and he didn't shave, great by me, we were in the mountains! He said he wanted to keep the scruff for a few extra days, again, fine by me.
Clearly there is nothing new on the adoption front, or I wouldn't be filling my time with opinion polls of Moody's facial hair. Praying this is the week!! :)
This is Moody now. We went to Colorado and he didn't shave, great by me, we were in the mountains! He said he wanted to keep the scruff for a few extra days, again, fine by me.
Then he went to work and heard these words from multiple patients and their mothers. "Hey, Dr. Moody, you look like a rockstar!", "Dr. Moody, you look like a movie star with the facial hair!"
Can you see the problem here? So the few extra days have turned into several weeks and I haven't heard a word of when it might actually come off! I think my man is pretty stinking hot with short hair, long hair, etc. I do not like to kiss the scruff, and therefore- think it should go. I have decided to get some outside participation. So, please let me know what you think. Do you like the scruff or my clean cut guy? Be honest, even if it means that I have to kiss grizzly Adams awhile longer.

Lose the facial hair, Moody! Emily, the man of my dreams does this every so often... it's a terrible curse. He thinks he's a mountain man and a rock star. And then women at work feed this desire. It's all LIES! Lies I tell you! Zach would not be happy with my taking your side, Emily, but I have no choice. I agree. Off with the hair!
becca :)
(it's just so scratchy!)
To shave or not to shave...hmmm... I say off with the beard! For me, it evokes thoughts of pictures of Jesus from Hud's little Bible. :)
That is funny Ellen. A little brother of one of Hill's baseball teammates asked Moody if he was playing Jesus in an Easter play! :)
I'm gonna have to say that it needs to come off. Sorry, Moody, but it kinda ages you and you need to do what you can to look as young as Em. ;) That's my vote!! Miss y'all!!
Not to hit on your man, but I think the hair is hot;) Pls, it's so long now, it's gotta be soft!
I think Moody needs to ditch the "mid-life-look-like-a-rock-star-crisis" and go for somthing more subtle like a red sports car. Love ya man. :)
Ok... don't get mad but I really LIKE THE FACIAL HAIR. Ted has it too though and you get use to it. He can condition it to make is softer :-)
I love the post!!!
Love u
Tracie
LOVE THE COMMENT ABOUT HIM BEING JESUS AT THE PLAY
ok, don't disown me, but i say it STAYS !!!! i always like it when scott grows his ... HOT HOT HOT !!!
I say leave it! Makes him look yonger!
Melodie
Mood, you are precious either way!! Sisters can say that! Definitely used to you without but why don't wait and shave when you get the call? :) You can ask others to pray for the adoption everytime they comment about all of your hair!! Love, Shanna
I say KEEP it. Hubba Hubba. He's a cutie!
Megan
Well, you can guess my opinion... one of the generation of "never trust a guy with facial hair!"
He's too handsome to cover up any of it!
Love,
Mom
Hmmmm, while I think a little shag is on the sexy side, I could see it getting old if you have to smooch against it. Now, that being said, it makes Moody look A LOT younger, and he looked young to begin with! He could pass for being in his twenties (don't tell him that or it'll never go)!! :)
My opinion... go along with whatever he wants... behind every strong man there is a phenomenal woman, he'll feel in control of his appearance and you will both ignite some newfound passion that comes with change sometimes (not that you don't have it, boy, I'm really coming accross wrong here)!!! The best advice; never take advice from me!!
I also like what Shanna said. It's kind of like what football stars (ehm Tom Brady) usually does for good luck!
In other news..I truly, truly, truly think (I know, not again) we are both hearing the phone ring pretty soon, like next week or two soon! Are you feelin' me babe??!! Seriously!!
xo
I'm with you about the scratchy scruff. I don't enjoy snuggling against it, but my own hubby has his own facial hair, too.
On the other hand, there is something that speaks "adventurous" about the scruff, and since you are on one crazy adventure right now, it just might fit.
Maybe keep it 'til referral, or court date? But then, the adventure isn't going to end, so....
I am thinking that all rock stars have tattoo's so if Moody wants I can make an appt. for him at the tattoo parlor when you come out for the Blog reunion. Start thinking of designs! Thursday night we will have you dialed! A tattoo date! Love you guys! Praying for your referral THIS WEEK!
My hubby had wanted to grow out his facial hair for a while - well he got the chance back in Nov. (for a fund raiser- but only a stash;))and I am happy to say we both HATE it! My kids got rashes from kisses and i actually looked like I had a upper lip with all the redness!
I am praying this week TOO!!!!
Moody, you are so handsome and should not cover up an ounce of your handsomeness with facial hair. I say cut that baby off.
I vote for the clean shaven look, that's just my personal preference on pretty much any man.
Keep it!!! At least for a while.
Oh dear. Moody Moody Moody. Emily, hun, Michael suffers from the same delusion. Every now and then he throws his razor out the window and feels wild, and sexy, and reckless for a few weeks. Sometimes a few months. Once for over a year. Yeesh, it's just facial hair! How can it make men feel like a rebel, a sex symbol, and a superstar? How can a little stubble suddenly cause swagger??? Lord, what we endure for our men!
No, I'm just kidding... It's not my favorite either, Em. I like a clean face on my sweetie, too, not only because I think he looks far more handsome that way but truthfully, also because its so much nicer to kiss (etc!) a cleanshaven hubby.
Moody, you definitely ROCK with the beard, but I think that handsome face shouldn't hide behind scruff. Come clean, my man!
Pam's right, if you wanna be a rock icon, there's an excellent tattoo parlor right by us we can take you to this summer! Michael's itching for something new, so maybe you could go "under the needle" together! :P
Praying for you as I type this, friends.
xo
I agree with Lori, it does actually make him look much younger, but then again, I am attracted to my man's manliness and not his 'youth,' so I say, "Shave it off!" - clean shaven is much sexier on most men...as I tell my manly man...grow it out anytime you're on vacation but I like having my smooth man back
I like the facial hair! But, my husband does this about once a week...I call them the "weekend whiskers". I love the scruff.
However, if you really want him to shave it, I'm sure you could tell him you like his hair so much, that you are going to grow the hair out on your legs...so you all can be kindred spirits :) I bet it'll come off pretty quickly!
Oh, this is a hard one. Michael does the same thing...and I like it for a while. If I protest, he keeps it for longer - as demented as that sounds! After a while he starts to feel oily, dirty and scratchy and off it comes. My favorite for Moody is clean shaven - he's handsome and can pull it off with out batting an eye either way. If it's a long term question I say off with it...if a couple more weeks...why not...then come clean!!!
My hubby did this over Christmas break. I asked him to shave it into a mustache/goatee before he shaved it all off. I LOVE it now...sexy facial hair...AND nice soft clean-shaven cheeks. He looks 10 years younger with it. I think your hubby looks good both ways; maybe you can get him to do the goatee thing for a couple of weeks and see if you like that better!
i love reading these comments! as i stated a couple of weeks ago...i love the hair! yes, i know from Jon's stubble....it can be scratchy when giving kisses :O) but hey i'm surprised it has lasted as long as it has! last time i saw Dr. M with any facial hair it was gone in like 2 days. also, my mom left me a long voice mail and her vote is keep it as well, said "all the movie stars are doing that, with the long hair and scruffy look, i think it looks GOOD!" :O)
Sorry, I really like it! I think it should stay....
The facial hair is good, for like, a week. Did you tell him that it makes him look older? Like, a lot older?
That may work!!! :)
KEEP IT...for now! I think it makes him look younger.
I'm sorry. I really like it:) I'm want to be a good friend- Honest...
You are so funny! I am not one to pick sides...
But I am one to be hoping and praying for some referrals this week!
hate to break it to ya, Emily, but your husband looks quite nice with facial hair!
I am all for keeping the Jesus look at least through Easter... it's only fitting! (Hope that comment isn't too inappropriate!)
Sorry, hun! I think he looks H.O.T. with the facial hair...in a brother in Christ sort of way. ;)
I see that Laurie is up for the tattoo's also. Maybe Sunday afternoon? Maybe we could all get matching ones. You and Laurie can get them on your hinies so your moms dont see them! HEHEHEHE
Leave it! Leave it! (chant those lines)
Seriously, coming from someone who has seen him in person...(that pic does NOT do the facial scenery justice) and not someone just looking at a blog pic...it does look pretty movie star-ish. I mean you guys are kind of like rock/movie stars with all of your 1,000 comments on this post anyways..so you need to play the part. Now it's your turn Em! But no cutting your awesome hair! Maybe we should go jean shopping...
Hi EM!
I think i'm back to the blogging world...I think....we'll see how tomorrow goes! So..um...yeah he needs to shave! Jeff is doing the same thing right now! SICK, nothing hotter than kissing scruffy hair...(uhh shivers just thinking of it). It doesn't look bad, but being the wife, it's not HOT!
Miss talking with you,
ME
Hmm....well I'm with ya Emily. Davids done this a time or two and it makes me crazy. I smile sweetly and tell him how much I love him stubble or not. I take the reverse psychology and tell him its great......he usually is over it in a week. ;)
That said - I think Moody looks great either way but the hair does make him look younger.
Did someone say tattoos? Now that would be fun. ;)
On one hand, I vote for the facial hair, because I think it looks the best.
On the other hand, he must shave because YOU are the one kissing him so your vote counts the most!!
Honestly, I love the scruff......he does look like a rock star...... :) (Don't worry, maybe it will just be a phase)
OK, Emily, you and me and heinie tats! Woo hoo! Pam can drive us straight to Margaritaville afterwards since we'll be sitting funny. Our mamas will never know! :D
Keep it till the call. And then you can always reduce it, with the goatee for a while, then the soul patch. (but it's definite mid-life crisis if you soul patch it). Since I'm the only GUY actually blogging on here it seems, i'm here to represent you, Mood. Keep it. Brett
just me up late, so i thought i would check in on ya ... have a peaceful night and fabulous day tomorrow !!! love ya sister ...
What can I say? Misery loves company. Drew shaves MAYBE once a week, in spite of my protests. So if I have to kiss whiskers, well, I'm happy to not be in it alone =). But your cutie Moody is a good looking man who can pull off rock star or preppy -- now how's THAT for multi-dimensional?! I say embrace it. It will come off soon enough =)
I love facial hair!!! dont cut it!!! not that I am checking him out or anything
yo yo yo dog i think the beard should go shave it now becuz if it gets to long you will have to use a weed wacker. love grant
i say leave it!!!! smokin hot!!!
he looks better with the beard. It detracts from the crazy eyes...
