i carry your heart in my heart
Woke up this morning all ready to do a cute little Valentines post and kept thinking of her..........I have debated whether or not to share this video for several reasons. It is raw, it is very emotional, it shares details about Abe.........but ultimately it is a story of love. A story of two women deeply in love with their boy.
This is from our trip in October to Addis. We saw Abe's birthmother. Her heart was broken and we pray somehow healed a bit as she knows he is one loved little boy. It was a rare and precious gift to have shared that moment with so many of my dearest friends and family.

Crying my eyes out--but so thankful you shared these precious moments. So much love. I can see Abe's beautiful birthmom in his sweet face.
oh my...tears are flowing in Wisconsin!!! Thank you SO much for sharing this. Grace and I watched together - she loved seeing Eyob and KVI, and I loved seeing the beautiful connection that you have with Abe's birth mom...oh how I pray that we will one day be able to go back and experience something similar with Grace's Ethiopian family. Abe has inspired so many!!!- pure love!
Still think of Demekech so often and her love for Abey. That day was such a blessing on so many levels for me...love y'all!!

Tears are rolling down my cheeks, and I am challenged again by your family and by your sweet son. Thanks for sharing your story and for being vulnerable.
thank you so much for sharing!!!! Abe has blessed us all in so many ways!!!
Love to both mommies of Abe!!!
Happy V-day!!!
I have been following your blog anonymously since you saw Abe's first picture in the Texas Tech shirt. God has touched my heart about adoption and although my husband and I have not acted on it yet, it's something that is very much on our hearts. Thank you for sharing this story. It's the most special Valentine's story you could share. The gift Abe's mother gave you is incredible, but the gift you have given her to see her son again is so special. Many tears of joy for this love story.
Wow Emily! That is a beautiful, priceless video! Crying tears of joy over how God has used that precious boy! So powerful to see Abe's two momma's loving on him!
Love to your whole family,
Jenny C.
most beautiful love story.
i wish i had the opportunity to meet R's birth mother. i feel connected to her none the less.
Wow! I am overcome with such joy in watching you and your family over the years. Thank you for sharing Abe's story. Today as we celebrate Isaac's adoption day and I am constantly reminded of God's grace in our lives and yours. Love you guys.
As I think about meeting my two little ones in Ethiopia in 11 days, I can only imagine what it was like to have this reunion! Thank you for sharing this precious God moment with us!
One thing I forgot-your Abe journey was one of the first families I knew that had adopted from Ethiopia and it started the adoption that we are currently in!
Thanking God for your family and your example!
Thank you, thank you for sharing!! I am bawling!! God is at work and it's amazing to watch!
I can't begin to describe the holy hush that is present in my room right now. I can only imagine how precious this little boy is. I am sure it was hard to decide whether to share this video or not, wondering if it was okay to share his life...just wanted you to know that you did it right. You did his life story justice. So tender, so honoring. He will be proud to watch this someday and know he was making a difference as a young babe. Know that we are treasuring it with great respect here. I really don't have the words right now...but I am grateful for you sharing this gift with us, perfect strangers yet sisters in the body of Christ. Much love to your family.

Sweet Emily,
I am SO glad that you shared this video! It is inspiring and beautiful. I'm a puddle of tears. God has used Abe to touch so many of us. His birthmother is so precious, and WOW does Abe ever look like her! I love the necklace pendant you gave her. It's beautiful, and it says so much.

Thank you for blessing me by sharing your story.
Absolutely beautiful.
Just catching up with blog reading. THANK YOU for sharing this! It was amazing to see. Birthfamily contact is something that we never really considered, but as we approach our 2 years home mark, it is wonderful to see. It was such an honor to meet our son's first mom. It is wonderful to see that connection that you still have with her. I pray that she always remembers just how loved he is!
