a grateful heart
Seth Eyasu with cousin Travis
Lately he has started to expand his prayers and tonight, as I lay next to him in bed, it simply brought tears to my eyes. This was his prayer tonight with explanation as needed in red. :)
Picture him in his little football, footie jammies, laying on a big pink furry pillow in Avery's bed. His hands glasped just so and this coming out of his mouth, "Jesus, thank you for Jesus, I love you. Thank you for today, good day. Thank you for big light (we had just talked about whether he wanted the door to bathroom open for big or little light) thank you Avery. For food. Thank you mommy, grocery store with mommy. White beep beep. For Hill Wick. For watching Elmo, da da ta da, da da ta Elmo's world. Yep, he sang a little here. For Issy. For baseball. Whack. Think it was sound of baseball bat hitting ball. :) Thank you for Jesus. For baseball hat. Thank you. We went to a new Kelley baseball store today and the dear owner asked if he had a baseball hat yet and proceeded to give him a hat! His smile lit up the room. For mommy. Thank you for Jesus. Tomorrow. For daddy, work then Eyasu's house. For Jesus, I love you. Amen. "
Honestly, is that the prayer of a grateful heart or what? Oh, I love this child. I kissed him and reminded him for the millioneth time how blessed I am to be his mommy, how much I love him and am grateful we are to have him here now.
There are millions of orphans right now that would long to be tucked in bed tonight by a mommy or daddy. Is that you???

So very sweet and so wonderful to see him, and you, so happy!!
(and YES, it is me! Can't wait to tuck two little boys into bed!!! I know I don't have to tell you that, LOL)
LOVE IT! Precious!
That is so precious- thank you for sharing it with us!
And yes it's me too- I'm just not sure who we'll be tucking in yet!
SO sweet
Precious precious baby!!! Love that little one. We need to chat again soon. Today? Tomorrow? I shall call.
sooo precious! thanks for making me smile :)
What a sweet little one! I can just imagine the smiles in Heaven as that teeny little voice sent up such a BIG prayer! :) How amazingly wonderful!
Sooo sweet! Eyasu sounds like a wonderful boy that fits perfectly into your family!
I too can't wait to tuck my little boy in. Soon, I pray!!!
Oh this really has me in a mess! I guess thinking of all the kids we left a few weeks ago at AHOPE ...and how many of them were so excited for Esther Grace, yet you could see in their eyes they too longed for a mommy and daddy. For that little boy that with tears streaming down his face grabbed hold of Shane's leg and mumbled Ababa..daddy.
I just talked to Bec this morning and she was telling me how precious sweet EG's heart is...wanting to help do chores (at two!) and how she is so joyful and grateful. How much we all can learn from these precious little souls. No wonder Jesus told us to have hearts and faith like little children. Love you!
That is just so sweet...what an amazing little heart!
YES!! It is me too!! We get our baby boy March 13th!! Can't wait... Such a BEAUTIFUL prayer! Such a wonderful child!! God Bless Your Family Always!!!

thanks for sharing this :).
That just gave me goose bumps and was so touching. He is so cute.
What an awesome prayer... what a blessing he is to all of us who have the chance to follow his journey (even if it is by just through a blog). Thank you so much for sharing the prayer with us and allowing him to remind us all what we have to be thankful for! And hopefully we WILL be tucking in a little one from Ethiopia soon!!!
Oh my word. What a beautiful prayer from such a precious heart.
Blessings,
Amy
Ohhh...seriously, just precious.
Okay, so I finally learned my lesson to quit 'popping in' on your blog between dinner prep and gymnastics carpool- it always makes me tear up!
Love his sweet prayer, love that you recorded it more.
Fun to see you and your cutie yesterday at the grocery store he was thankful for!!
love this so much! love.love.love.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
i have heard Eyasu's voice in my head with his authentically grateful heart ever since i read this. The redeeming picture of his life spreading such joy & conviction because of his being adopted ..... it's the Gospel at work.
goosebumps!
What a grateful, sweet heart he has. And a pretty great mommy and daddy, too!
This brings tears to my eyes. What a sweet boy:)
oh sister that just melts my heart and makes me want to shake the hundreds of thousands of families that have heard the call to adopt and they just sit ...
give him hugs from TN
How What a sweet little man - I love this! :-)
Sam and I were just listening to a sermon about how we are to "rejoice" - even in the face of great trials, the Word says "Rejoice!". We were discussing how when we don't, it so easy to slide into a shlump...and to get stuck there...what a precious reminder from your little one. I want that kind of heart. Thanks!
SOOO precious!!
