peace

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

I'm so thankful this morning as the Lord has so graciously extended an enormous amount of peace to me through His word. A sweet friend gave Moody and I an old devotional that she "happened" to find yesterday and thought it would be of encouragement to us right now as we wait upon the Lord to send us back to Ethiopia to get our son.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 21:19

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9

I am reminded that His plan is always better than my own, His timing is always perfect, He is always working in our lives and His purposes are always served!

The verse that has ministerd to me and taught me throughout the entire process is from Isaiah 55.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth: it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55: 8-11

He will bring our precious son home at His perfectly appointed time. I need to rest in that.

Oh, the depths of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and how inscrutable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor? Who has been given a gift to HIm that he might be repaid? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11: 33-36

It is my prayer that the uncle would return to the courts in Addis with a new ID, that we would be able to travel in September and bring our son home and that the Lord would be greatly glorified in the process.

I was up all night praying for our two children. God MOVED MOUNTAINS for us last night and we got our signature and new court date tomorrow. I have been praying that HE can move your mountain and get an ID card. Our God is good and I wait to see how he pieces it all together tomorrow. I am praying for your boy tonight as I pray for our daughter.

God is good sweet friend. He sees and knows what we don't. Praying for His timing in this and for you to look back and be blessed even in this hard waiting process. I'm glad scripture has given you peace and will pray today and tonight for that ID card!

Sweet Jesus, please bring this boy home soon! God is so good. He already knows where will live each day of our lives and who we will live with and for how long. But, He feels our pain too and knows our heart!

Many blessings to your precious family!

I have been following your blog and love your passion for the Lord. We just returned with our 2 year old son and we are completely in love. I just had to share too that Isaiah 55 and the verses you quoted have been my verses through our adoption journey. Reading them once again on your blog reminded me of how these verses carried me through our journey. They still resonate with me. Praying with expectation for you and your family!!
