waitlist, Cali, and daddy is coming home!!

The kids and I just got back from a quick trip to California to visit the Thornes. As always, they were incredibly gracious and hospitable.  It was dreamy getting away from the Texas heat.  We had the honor of attending King's adoption finalization, and were bummed we didn't get to see all of our California buddies-- it was a quick trip though, next time. :)

I took this from Pam's blog and it was one of several- I didn't cut her out like it appears. :)

We officially went on the wait list last week for a boy, 1- 3 years old.  It could be quick as according to the unofficial list-- we are at the top of that gender and age.  We just pray for His perfect timing and trust in Him.

Moody should be heading to the airport right about now to hop on a plane headed this way. He gets home tomorrow late afternoon, and we couldn't be more excited to see him.  The Lord has done some amazing things on this trip and we are so thankful for that.

He has supernaturally sustained me as I haven't had a moment of wondering why I agreed to this trip! :)  Thank you to those that prayed, it certainly worked!!

I don't know what it is but that last picture had me a little teary. It's so neat to see your husband volunteering his amazing skills in a place where health care is so poor. Congrats on the waitlist!!

Wow! How cool is that? Y'all are about to have another baby boy it sounds like! (Well, technically not a baby, I guess. More like a toddler - ) I have told so many people about your adoption from Ethiopia. Your whole family is amazing to me - the way you have all worked together in helping Abe learn and grow strong. The love all of the older kids have for him is heartwarming!!! Ok - and I just have to ask - does having a teenager make you feel older? My kids are 14 and 20. I say all the time that it is not my birthdays that make me feel older - it is theirs that make me feel older! It doesn't seem that long ago that I was their age. How can I have kids that are in high school and college when I have barely graduated myself?!?! Enjoy your weekend catching up on all the news with your hubby.

i need to tell you that i sat zach down last night to look at this post. he started to cry. you see, i can finally reveal publically that God has shifted our lives dramatically over the past year. We have been called to dental school, for specifically what Moody is doing in Ethiopia. this will take time, cost us everything. but it's well worth it, because it's a call. i've shared this with Pam and now you. I'm about to blog about it when i find the right words. but you and moody are so inspiring to us, and zach would really love to be connected with him soon. he's taking pre-req's now while working full time (this is why i'm going nuts) and we will apply to schools during the summer of 2010, in order to start school in the fall of 2011 (if he gets in somewhere). we don't know how we're going to make it but God will provide! we covet your prayers for this!!!
thanks friend

I didn't realize it was YOUR husband that was seeing the Gladney kids this week. Mary said that the kids didn't go to school on Wednesday because a dentist/orthodontist was coming! How cool is that!

Can't wait to hear the good news that you received your referral!

Have a great weekend!

Congrats on being on the waitlist!! I hope it goes quickly this time. I'm dying to start the process again, but Ben wants to wait until the end of the year. Hopefully we will be starting soon!

By the way, I'm so jealous that you know someone who knows Dierks!! I guess now I can say I know someone who knows someone who knows Dierks. :) He's my fave.

So just getting caught up on things ... but we were able to meet Moody in Addis on our flight home! Amazing. Your gotcha video was instrumental in our adoption journey and to meet Moody at the airport in bringing home our boy was totally a God thing. CONGRATS on your referral!!!
