home from hospital

Abe did amazing.  Such a champ.  The surgery went really well and he is tolerating his feeds through his g tube well.  We are grateful for the wonderful care we received while at Cooks, the incredible support of friends and family who helped cover the 6 kids at home (thanks Nanny and Bunty) and the many prayers for our sweet boy.  He is uncomfortable at the moment, but prayerfully that won't last long.

Getting last minute loving from daddy before they took him back!  He was all smiles!
In our room, after surgery.  Nurses thought this was a sweet smile.  I told them to just wait awhile! :)
That is more like it!  Was thrilled to see his sisters show up for a visit. Think this pic tells a beautiful story of sibling love.

Can't help but think of this day when I look at the above picture.
"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him."
1 Samuel 1:27

Hooked up for my first feed.  Took it like a champ.

Rolling out of the hospital in a cute red wagon.  Ready to be home with my peeps.

Greatly appreciate the prayers, texts, etc letting us know that our boy was in your thoughts and prayers!

Hi, I've followed your blog since 2008 or so, we have a son from Ethiopia. He also has some special needs and we had a feeding tube for him too. It was the best choice we ever made for him! They are so easy and make you so much less worried about getting the nutrition inside the little bodies. Thanks for sharing your journey.

I confess, I don't stop by as much as I did years ago, but I admit: when I saw the pic of sibs in the hospital bed, I also remembered the same moment between them! I've always LOVED the pic you posted; your daughter's eyes welling up. It's quite touching. Glad Abe is doing well. God bless.

Emily,
So glad the surgery went well! I know you are so busy...but we are heading to Ethiopia next week and I was looking for some advice on things to bring for birth families and the many kids we will encounter at orphanages, etc.
Would love some advice.
