Happy Birthday Em!!
My sweet bride has a birthday tomorrow!! I know she would love to get some digital birthday hugs from all of you that have been such an encouragement to her this past year!
BTW, Abe is doing great. Bummer of a night but that comes with the territory!
Appreciate all of you,
Moody

abe here
Hey guys, it's me Abe! I'm just chillin' here with my fam- so far, I think they are pretty great. Here are a few pics of me and a few hanging out with my bros. Mom keeps saying she is a little rusty on her time management skills with an infant. I have no idea what that means, but maybe that is why she doesn't blog very much anymore. :)

blessings
This was one of my favorite photos of Abe that we received while we were waiting for him! It just made me happy.
Today we were so blessed by a precious 15 year old! We have been friends with her family for years and they have been so supportive during the entire adoption process. Her mom was with me the day that we lost our referral, they rejoiced with us over the referral of Abe and they greeted us at the airport upon our return to Texas.
Her little brothers are in science with my kids and she brought us the most amazing gift today after class. I wept at the labor of love and absolute beauty! This was her first portrait........Moody told her we may sell it for millions when she is uber-famous. Can you believe how talented she is? What a treasure.
She signed the bottom left corner with her name and God.

reality
I think we are finally back to reality! We are settling into our routine as a family of 7. We have officially started our homeschool year, and the kids are back to all of their activities. I don't love the busy schedule, but we sure love the addition of Abe to our family. He makes each day brighter- just look at that face! :) He is sleeping great (getting up once for a bottle and right back down) so I physically feel so much better now.
Ethiopia is still at the forefront of our minds, and we are praying for the Lord to show us how we can serve there long-term. More on that as we continue to process....I know I have said that a few times, but those that have traveled can back me up on this one! :)

final slideshows
Here are the final two slideshows! Kristin is so amazing and has such a gift. We were so blessed to have her with us each step of the way.
We all delight in Abe. He is such a bright light in our family! We also all miss Ethiopia. As we watched the final two slideshows, the kids all said how much they want to go back- we totally agree. A huge hole in our hearts can only be filled with the people of Ethiopia. Lord willing, He will allow us to return sooner than later.
Enjoy! To God be the Glory!

charity water
I am still processing the trip and what the Lord wants us to do with all that we saw and the people we met. We know we want to support KVI and it's ministry, and are praying through the rest.
I found this website and loved the idea. I have a September birthday and think it is a good way to do something right now. I was so humbled by the joy that I found in the people of Ethiopia. They have little materially, but have huge hearts! We tend to get things clouded by all of the stuff.
Not that I expected b-day gifts from you guys, but just wanted you to know about this event that is taking place right now! They will drill 333 new wells in Ethiopia. This will literally change the lives of thousands currently living without safe water. That is exciting!

cutie
I finally feel like I am coming out of the fog.......I am still tired and it doesn't help that little man still has his days and nights a little confused! We are working on it and enjoying him so much. The kids are such great helpers, often competing for his attention.
We are blessed beyond measure! I'm still processing the trip and hope to start writing about it soon. My heart remains with the precious children that captured it at KVI. I long to return there. What a gift to spend so much time with the staff and children there.
Many thanks again for following along. We prayed that the perfect images would be photographed, that others would feel they were there, and that He would draw people to Himself and therefore take seriously the command to care for the orphans of the world. We are completely in awe of Him and how He used the gifts He gave Kristin to capture this trip. We happen to be in the frames, but it really is just a beautiful picture of adoption-- His story!

home
We are back. We are tired. We are in love.
So much to share about our trip.........it was amazing and heart-breaking.
Thank you so much for the love, support and prayers. They carried us through.
Hoping to have the videos tweaked a bit and on the blog soon! :) If you would like to view the slideshows, send me an email or a comment and I will forward you the links to view all of them (that we have so far!)
I left a huge piece of my heart at KVI, and I can't wait to return and see the kiddos that fill these shoes! I have so much to say about the staff, ministry and children of Kingdom Vision International. :)
Abenezer with one of the wonderful nannies at KVI!
